In Loving Memory of Stephanie B. Lynge

September 9, 1943 – October 31, 2025

Today we celebrate the life of Stephanie B. Lynge, who passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 82.

Stephanie's life was one filled with grace, creativity, and compassion. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth touched everyone she met.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother George S. Brunner III and his wife, Nora Brunner; her daughter, Stephanie L. Lynge and her husband, Charlie P. Michell; her son, James S. Lynge and his wife, Jennifer Vinagre Lynge; and her cherished grandchildren, James and Juliette, all of whom brought endless joy and laughter into her life.

Stephanie's journey began as a dancer, a calling that reflected her deep love of art and beauty. Later in life, she found an even stronger purpose in service - working as the Associate Director of Advancement for Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Illinois. Her passion for this mission was unwavering. She believed in the power of community, compassion, and care, and made a lasting difference in the lives of countless children. She also co-authored the book Cunningham Children's Home 125 Years: 1895-2020.

A proud member of P.E.O., Stephanie treasured the sisterhood and lifelong friendships she found there. Those who knew her will remember her for her generosity and her ability to make everyone feel seen and valued.

Stephanie's family and friends take comfort in knowing that her kindness, creativity, and love will continue to ripple through the world and live on in every heart she touched.

The family invites those who wish to honor Stephanie's memory to make a donation to Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Illinois, the organization that held such a special place in her heart.

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Lynge family.

I would like to send my late Condolences to the Lynge Family. I knew Stephanie when she was at Faith United Methodist Church and at Cunningham Children´s Home. I always remembered her as a very sweet, loving, out going person. She will truly be missed. Betty Roberts
