Stephanie McCray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Loyless Funeral Home - Land O'Lakes on Dec. 10, 2025.
Stephanie Loretta McCray, born on January 14, 1960, in Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, cherished by her family and friends for her unwavering spirit and infectious laughter.

Stephanie was the proud mother of two daughters, Jennifer McCray and Lagina Smith.

She was a loving sister to Adrianne McCray and aunt to Leon McCray. She is also survived by her beloved grandsons, Marcus Duberry Jr. and Micah Duberry, who brought immense joy to her life.

Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to caring for her daughter, Jennifer McCray, who required assistance.

Stephanie had a particular fondness for old western movies. She dreamed of one day visiting Hawaii and Joyously proclaiming, "Book 'em, Danno!"

She spent most of her life as a caretaker to her disabled daughter, Jennifer. She also helped nurture and raise her niece Ann Jeanette McCray. Stephanie had a deep love for her two grandsons Marcus Duberry Jr. and Micah Duberry. She loved to knit, listen to music, play with her grandkids, and watch old western movies.

Stephanie was a bright spirit that told jokes, loved to laugh, and lived every day on her own terms. She said what she felt and kept it honest. Heaven gained an angel with a big heart and even bigger sense of humor. She will be sorely missed. But, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Her daughters say, "..until we meet again, fly high Big Red!"

Stephanie's warmth and sense of humor touched all who knew her. She had a gift for making others laugh, sharing jokes, and bringing light to every situation. She lived her life authentically, expressing her feelings honestly and fearlessly. As we mourn her passing, we celebrate her vibrant spirit and the love she shared with her family.

In honor of Stephanie's life, her family invites those who knew her to remember her in laughter and kindness, carrying forward the love she so generously shared.
