Stephanie Renee (Whittaker) Pingleton, 63 of Tulsa passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Tulsa.
The family will greet friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. J.T. Carnell. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester.
Pallbearers will be Robert Whittaker, Johnnie "June-Bug" Whittaker, Jr., Terrell Whittaker and Andre Whittaker.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Derric Sutton.
Stephanie Renee (Whittaker) Pingleton, known affectionately as Stephanie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on August 19, 1961, to Johnnie Whittaker, Sr. and Ann (Hawkins) Whittaker-Drew, Stephanie's life was a testament to her loving, analytical, and selfless nature.
Stephanie graduated from Morris High School. Her passion for mechanics and small engine repair led her to pursue further education at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. This education laid the foundation for her successful career as the owner and operator of a small engine repair service, a venture that showcased her exceptional mechanical skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
In 1980, Stephanie married Ronald T. Pingleton in Taft, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with children: Michael D. Pingleton, Heather Pingleton all of whom brought immense joy and pride to Stephanie's life. Although Ronald preceded her in death in 1992, Stephanie's resilience and dedication to her family saw her move from McAlester to Tulsa, ensuring her children had the support and opportunities they needed to thrive.
Stephanie's life was enriched by her deep connection to her Native Creek heritage. She found great pleasure in learning and sharing the history, culture, and experiences of the Creek tribe. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her fondness for fishing, a pastime that allowed her to embrace the beauty of nature and the tranquility of the water.
Family was the cornerstone of Stephanie's world. She was a beacon of love and support, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. Stephanie's legacy lives on through her children and her three cherished grandchildren including Julissa Santana who will forever remember their grandmother's unwavering love and guidance.
Stephanie's siblings, Eleanor Bradford, Darlene McKnight, Hazel Elwell, Robert Whittaker, Johnnie Whittaker, Jr., and Elmer Whittaker, will miss her deeply, as will her numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. Her life was also graced by the companionship of Phillip Witcher, who stood by her side with love and friendship.
Stephanie's departure from this world leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit remains a guiding light. Her ability to analyze and solve problems, coupled with her selfless acts of kindness, made her a cherished member of her community.
Stephanie's life was a beautiful example of how to live with grace, strength, and an unwavering commitment to family.
