Stephanie Marie Sigmund (Santiago) age 36, passed away on August 27, 2024, after her courageous battle with breast cancer at the Reading Hospital.
Born on October 19, 1987, to her loving parents, Ramon Santiago and Michelle Dengler Santiago.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph L Sigmund. They were married in March 2024, and celebrated 5 beautiful months of marriage after spending 21 years of life together.
Stephanie was a 2005 graduate of Reading Senior High School. She went on to attend The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences. She was employed as a registered nurse at Genesis Health Care in Sinking Spring for 12 years. Recently being promoted to Director of Nursing in 2021. Stephanie was an outstanding nurse,She was compassionate, and always going above and beyond to care for her patients. Her dedication to the sick at her workplace was evident in her attentive and empathetic approach, ensuring that each person felt valued and comforted. Her kindness and commitment to their well-being made a significant impact on those she cared for. Stephanie was a member of Glad Tidings Church and The Sisters Network. She gave her life to Christ on February 8th, 2024, she kept her faith despite the trials she endured. She had an unwavering trust in God's plan for her life, which reflected a profound strength that inspired many around her. She was a proud basketball mom dedicating her time to games and events. She will be remembered for being a devoted mother, wife, daughter and sister. She cherished traveling, reading, and spending time with her family. Her absence will be deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved her. She made a significant impact on many lives.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her children, Kiana Sigmund, Michael Sigmund, and Amayah Sigmund. Also surviving is a sister, Melissa Santiago, brother Elijah Ray Santiago, niece Shianne Santiago, Brother-in-laws, Peter Cortes and Michael Sigmund and father-in-law Felix Trujillo.
Funeral services will be held at Sanders Funeral Home, 1501 N. 11th Street, Reading on Wednesday September 4, 2024, at 12:00PM. The family will receive friends and family from 10-12:00PM. The interment will follow the services at Gethsemane Cemetery.
