Stephanie Elyse Stone

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved and treasured daughter Stephanie, who passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She no longer suffers or struggles for each breath. She fought valiantly against cystic fibrosis, won many battles but at last, has lost her war. 39 years old, born June 24, 1985, in Fayetteville, NC, she lived life to the fullest until she couldn't.
With all her health issues she managed to graduate from Madison Southern High School in 2003, even after having a double lung transplant at age 14. Following her high school graduation, she attended EKU and graduated with double majors. Then she went on to get her master's degree in order to help others. She literally would do without, in order help others.
She will be greatly missed by those of us who survive and loved her dearly. Stephanie is survived by her mom and step dad, Brenda and Phillip Rogers; her brother: Joshua Stone; her sister: Nicole (Adam )Essex; nephews Caleb, Jacob, Noah, Jonah and Silas Stone; her grannies: Edith lakes Richardson (Ed Charles), Patricia Rogers and Waltrude Stone; her great granny: Anna Redden (104 yrs old); her dad Earl Stone; very special and loving friend Richard King; the Cats, her fur babies, Heidi, Pumpkin, Miss perfect and Juniper and Dante the basset hound; aunts Deborah, Rebecca, Leslie, Betsy, Erica (Scott); her Godmother: Elaine Steinbach and a host of cousins, other relatives and cherished friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Shepperson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Caleb, Jacob and Noah Stone, Adam Essex, Daltin Gillaspy and Fredrik Steinbach.
