Stephen Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Easton on Dec. 15, 2025.
Stephen E. "Big Papa" Allen, 77, of Brockton, formerly of Easton, passed away on December 10, 2025, at Boston Medical Center in Boston. He was the loving husband of the late Colleen A. (Nash) Allen.
Born in Boston, a son of the late Edward J. and Charlotte (Fenton) Allen, he was raised in South Weymouth and was a graduate of South Weymouth High School.
A disabled American veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a Sergeant with the 101st Airborne Division, received the Bronze Star, and was honorably discharged.
Stephen began his working career in the retail industry, starting with Angelo's Supermarket. He then held positions with Paperama and later as a buyer for Home Depot. He retired after running his own business in Easton.
A resident of Easton for over 20 years, he was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Easton, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. After his late wife's passing, he was instrumental in repairing the musical chime bells at Holy Cross Church, which ring out hourly.
Stephen enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He also enjoyed shopping and was an avid golfer who took pride in landscaping his home and caring for his numerous flower gardens.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Franzoni, and her husband, Mark, of Easton; three grandchildren, Jackson Franzoni, Bailey Franzoni, and Logan Franzoni, all of Easton; and his faithful dog, Abigail Rose.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Easton. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory may be made to Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton, MA 02375.
