My deepest condolences to Sherri and Steve's children. My family & I are just so sorry and upset to hear that Steve has passed. Steve was my parent's neighbor for numerous years. I also worked with Steve at the Roanoke Cement plant for 14years.
Steve was always known for his incredible strength and unrelenting drive. It was evident at work, at home and the fact that he even volunteered at the Fire Department. And let's be honest he was known for saying what he was thinking. Ha. I have specific memories of when he met his wife Sherri. He was so proud of her, showed pictures of her and bragged about her. You could tell she was the one! I was happy such a hardworking guy had found his Love.
Steve was a good neighbor to my parents and after my mom died he would always ask how my Dad was doing. (Or how "the old man was") Ha. Steve was unrelenting in his drive to make home improvements, keep his yard beautiful and most remembered will be him and his wife's extraordinary holiday decorations. Halloween & Christmas were spectacular and I know his Halloween decorations brought tons of trick or treaters. We would give out candy at my Dads and enjoy all the trick or treaters they attracted. This fun holiday impacted so many, children and neighbors alike and this Halloween and Halloweens to come will not be the same!
I always thought Steve must be someone who didn't require sleep. Ha.
God Bless him as he rests in the Father's arms now. I will miss our talks catching up on things as we yelled from his back porch to my mine at my parent's house. I will miss him!
Again my deepest condolences.
