Stephen Betts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Miami on Jan. 23, 2026.
Stephen Lee Betts, beloved husband, father, Poppa, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, surrounded by love. He was 62 years old.

Steve was born on January 30, 1963, in Grove, Oklahoma, to Billy Don Betts and Mary Jane (Betts) Bowers. He was known for his deep faith, quiet strength, and devotion to his family.

Steve was an ordained minister and faithfully served in ministry for over 25 years. He had a genuine love for people, especially those who were hurting or in need. His faith was lived out through action, as he quietly and consistently helped others through many means, including regularly providing for the homeless. Serving others was not just something Steve did-it was who he was.

Steve was a loving husband to Jeanette Betts and a devoted father and Poppa who took great pride in his children and grandchildren. His life centered on caring for those he loved and showing up for them in meaningful ways.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Betts; his mother, Mary Jane Bowers (husband Coy) of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; his children: Jennifer Trease (husband Chad) of Commerce, Oklahoma; Cindy Pulido (husband Jesus) of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; Kristen Roberts (husband Nathan) of Commerce, Oklahoma; Joseph Savage Jr. (wife Katy) of Gentry, Arkansas; and Bethany Betts of Neosho, Missouri; his brothers, Rob Betts, Jeff Betts, and Chris Betts; along with his cherished grandchildren and extended family.

Steve's life was marked by love, service, and faith. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so well and the countless lives he touched.

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

- Matthew 25:40
