Stephen Blaeske Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home on Dec. 18, 2025.
Stephen K. Blaeske, 70 of Johnson Creek, WI, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Fort Memorial Hospital, due to complications from cancer.

Steve was born on October 27, 1955, in Waukesha, WI, the son of Richard and Roberta (Brach) Blaeske. He graduated from Palmyra High School, then entered the Army serving in Germany, and later earned a technical degree. He was in the trucking industry for the majority of his working years, both as a driver and an instructor. A true Wisconsite, Steve was an adventurer, a handy man, and loved watching Green Bay Packers games on Sundays. He enjoyed an Old Fashions before dinner at area supper clubs, and was an avid "drive-a-bout" taker. Steve treated everyone like they were family, a rare quality, but was especially devoted to his children and grandchildren. Being with people was important to Steve. He chatted up with waitresses, was kind to all, understood people's differences, and was generous with his time and talents. He loved being from a small town, and was applicable to people in general. He was fun loving kid at heart, story teller, and traditional man. His determination, hardworking nature, and ability to live a simple and happy life, were aspects of Steve most admired. He lived a life unaffected by people or circumstance and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: his children Felicia Blaeske (Kyle Crump) of Richfield, Garrett (Haley) Blaeske of Jefferson, and step-son Emery (Alice) Eastlick and family; grandchildren; brother Douglas (Deb) Blaeske of Oshkosh, and his ex-wife and friend Mary Eastlick of Jefferson. Steve is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Barabara Blaeske and Michael Blaeske.

A friends and family gathering will be from 2:00PM to 4:00PM on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home in Jefferson with a time of sharing at 4:00PM. A military honor will follow the time of sharing at the funeral home.
