Stephen Bove Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ready Funeral & Cremation Services - Mountain View Chapel on May 28, 2022.
Stephen Edward Bove (70)
On May 24th, 2022, Stephen Bove of Palm Harbor Florida passed into the arms of his loving family and friends who had passed before him.
Stephen received his associates degree from Champlain College, then went on to study at the University of Vermont School of Business and Economics, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in 1977. Stephen's military service spanned the years of 1970 to 1976, serving with the Vermont Air National Guard.
Steve enjoyed a rich and varied work history in both Vermont and New Hampshire. He was particularly passionate in advising people through their financial planning journey as a Financial Planner, retiring in 2015. He was proud of the years he was able to participate in many community programs, including mentor programs, environmental initiatives, and church committees. Stephen has also maintained membership in the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Stephen loved the outdoors and was active; he enjoyed skiing, golfing, biking and hiking.
Stephen had a very special gift of making friends wherever he found himself in life. He also accumulated many four legged friends. Neighbors could count on Steve to always be ready with a pocket full of treats on his morning walks. It is certain he is conducting traffic now on the rainbow bridge and reuniting with many old furry friends.
In 1976 Stephen married his soulmate and love of his life, Joyce Freeman. They continued their beautiful journey in Vermont and then New Hampshire, where they became parents to Sarah Elizabeth and Mary Ellen. To Sarah and Mary, their "Pops" actively participated in their lives. An involved, loving and encouraging parent, he guided them to fulfill all their aspirations and dreams. He was so proud to be their Dad.
After retiring, Stephen and Joyce enjoyed living in Florida and on the shores of Lake Champlain, where they made many, many friends and memories. They also made meaningful trips to visit places they always wanted to go and friends and family who lived afar. Their journeys spanned visits to the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Caribbean.
With the support of his team of doctors, Stephen is a cancer survivor. Stephen challenged cancer for over 30 years and continued to fight before an abrupt illness got in his way.
Stephen is survived by Joyce, Sarah, and Mary; Mary's partner Ethan, and many close friends and family. Stephen has many beloved nieces and nephews and their parents, many cousins, and countless friends, all across the country.
Stephen is predeceased by his father Louis B. Bove and mother Mildred Basilere Bove, as well as his brother John L. Bove and sister Joyce Bove Brassard.
A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UVM Medical Center Cancer Research Department or an animal rescue of your choosing. You may also consider donating time to a charity of your choice, making the world a better place for all, in Steve's memory.

Dear Joyce, Sarah and Mary, I am so truly sorry and saddened by Steve's passing. Steve was such a loving, caring person and so generous with his time making sure he stayed in touch with people that were important to him in his life. Steve's memory will live on through the memories you created as a family and he created with his friends. Steve's eyes always twinkled when he talked about his family and he was so proud of each of you. Please take care of each other and keep your wonderful memories close to you heart. Heaven certainly gained another angel. Love Lee-Anne
