Stephen Michael Brodeur, beloved husband, father, and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at his home in Lynden, Washington on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Steve was born on January 25, 1955, at McChord Airforce Base in Tacoma, Washington to Lt. Joseph Edmond Aurele Brodeur and Shirley Marie Wilson. At 6 months of age, he and mom took about a month-long voyage to join dad who was stationed in Chitose Air Base in Japan, where his younger sister Diane was born. Steve was predeceased by his father in 2001, mother in 2002, and sister in 2006.
Brother Steve, as he is known to us, is survived by his loving wife, Rosa, and his two cherished children, Matthew and Charity.
He was a man of deep faith and dedication to his family and his church community. His love for the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of his life. He devoted countless hours to supporting the technology needs of Grace Tabernacle in Abbotsford, where he was instrumental in recording and mixing worship songs created by his church family, as well as remastering Brother Lee Vayle's sermon audio and visual files. His contributions to the church extended far beyond his technical skills; he was a pillar of strength and encouragement to all who knew him.
Steve's passion for technology was not only a gift to his church but also the foundation of his professional career. Before stepping away due to health reasons, Steve was a highly skilled medical technician. His problem-solving abilities and technical expertise made him a valuable asset in the medical field, where he worked on a variety of complex medical equipment, ensuring they operated flawlessly to help save lives.
In his personal life, Steve found joy in the simple pleasures of tending to his tomato garden. He took great care in nurturing his plants, finding peace and fulfillment in the quiet moments spent in his garden. He loved hiking in nature and taking his early morning bike rides while listening to the MP3 audio of the Bible and Message of the Revealed Word of the Hour, as pointed out by the sermons of his highly respected five-fold ministry Pastor, Brother Roger Smith.
Steve's legacy will live on through the lives he touched, both in his family and his church community. His unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and servant's heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Gillie's Funeral Home in Lynden on Friday, September 6th, at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow.
