Stephen James Callahan, age 52, passed away in Ellis County, Texas, on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Stephen developed his construction skills at an early age and became a Master Carpenter working for Equipment Management Services of Ferris, Texas, for the past five years. He was a member of ReChurch in Kaufman, Texas. Family was most important to Stephen.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jennifer (Forkum) Callahan, whom he married on May 26, 2019; his daughter Cara, and son Conner, both living at home; his son Kenneth James Corey, Henrietta, Texas; his mother, Linda Contreras of Kaufman; brother Rane Callahan of Haltom City, TX; brother Skeeter (wife Tosha) Callahan of Sanger, Texas; brother Fernando (wife Ana) Contreras, Dallas, Texas; sister Venessa (husband Jimmie) Contreras, San Antonio, Texas; and sister Adriana Medrano, Denton, Texas. His extended family includes son; son Justin Murphy, Mesquite, Texas; daughter Courtney Gulick, Kaufman, Texas, and daughter Alissa Murphy of Crandall, Texas. Five grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews also remain to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Contreras (Vietnam Veteran) and his grandfather, RJ Nelson (WWII Veteran).
To celebrate Stephen’s life and to pay homage to his father’s and grandfather’s service to our country, a memorial service will be held at ReChurch on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2022, at 1:00 pm., with Pastor Silver officiating.
