Jerry (Cotton) Lynn Bailey, 76, of Kaufman, TX went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2025. Cotton was born on August 24, 1949, to Roland and Mary Belle Bailey in Kaufman, TX. He grew up in Kaufman, living and working on the Star Brand Ranch through High School. Cotton graduated from Kaufman High School in 1967. On November 10, 1967, he married Gayle Bailey, and they have been together for a loving 57 years. He worked for TXI and Vought Aircraft before joining Dallas Power and Light (which later became Oncor) as an electrician in 1969. He was employed there until he retired in 2011. Cotton enjoyed going fishing and hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He also spent time working in his yard and gardening. Cotton was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and a Board Member for the Wilson Chapel Cemetery. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mary Belle, and brother James Bailey. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Gayle; sons Scott Bailey (wife Karen) and Brent Bailey (wife Cathy); grandchildren, Rachel Black (husband Colton), Kayla Davis (husband Chris), Tara Cares (husband Dillon), Mathew Bailey and Logan Bailey; great grandchildren Kallie, Emilia and Murphy; siblings George Bailey (wife Sharon) and Mary Psensik, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers the family has requested to make donations in Cotton's name to the Wilson Chapel Cemetery Association (6674 FM 1388 Kaufman, TX 75142) and the Bee Happy Day Program (106 N. Washington St. Kaufman, TX 75142.
