Jack Hays LeFlore, 86, of Kaufman, TX, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Jack was born on April 9, 1939, to Clarence Albert Sr. and Evelina Killabrew LeFlore in Palestine, TX. He grew up in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School in 1957.

Jack went to typewriting school in Missouri and for most of his career was a typewriter machine repairman, even operating his own shop, LeFlore Typewriter Repair, in Terrell. On December 16, 1983, he married Rosemary LeFlore, and they spent a loving 42 years together.

Jack was very involved in sports, not just watching his favorite Texas teams, but also coaching. He coached his own kids as well as schoolchildren in baseball and softball. Jack even put together a family softball team for city leagues. He enjoyed helping, encouraging, and supporting youth—he drove a bus for Scurry ISD and also sponsored children who couldn’t afford to be part of baseball leagues. When he wasn’t working or coaching, he was training mules and even his dogs for coon hunting. Jack had a poodle named “Tony D” and a schnauzer mix he called “George Jones.”

He also found time to hang out with family and friends along the banks while they fished and listened to country music. Rosemary and he spent time traveling together from coast to coast and Mexico to Canada. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman. He never met a stranger and could always crack a joke. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

His parents, Clarence and Evelina; daughter Angela Joyce Delamar; a grandchild; and siblings Robert LeFlore, Paul LeFlore, Clarence Jr LeFlore, JD LeFlore, Evelyn LeFlore, Veda LeFlore, Gilbert LeFlore and Marvin LeFlore preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosemary; children Jack (Skeeter) Hays LeFlore Jr. and wife Tammy, Debbie Louise Davis and husband Reno, Bobby Joe LeFlore and wife Angela, Brian Lee LeFlore and wife Sherry, Amy Lynn Garrison and husband William; stepchildren Jay Wilkie and Jill Nathman and husband Mike; and the two grandchildren he helped raise as his own, Lacey Goodson and her husband Cris, and Joey Wilkie, who were more like children to him than grandchildren.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings Roselener Main and J.C. LeFlore; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
