Stephen M. Carlin

Stephen M. Carlin, age 68, of Mantua, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 21, 2026, while under hospice care.

Stephen was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and United States Navy (Submarine) and retired from Gloucester County, where he worked as a bus driver and was well regarded by those he served. He enjoyed riding his collection of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and spending time with friends. Stephen was a member of VFW Post 7125 in Verga, NJ, and the Army Navy Union Garrison 52 in National Park, NJ.

He is survived by his brothers, William Jr., John, Kevin, and David Carlin, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William F. Carlin, Sr. and Elizabeth C. Miller, and by his brother, Richard Carlin.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051. A memorial service with military honors will follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
