Stephen Millard Cheaney was born in Gainesville, Texas on March 31, 1954 to Harold Cheaney and Maurice Cheaney Martin.
Steven ventured out to many places in his adult life making a few his home. He captured the hearts of many everywhere he went with his humor, music, adventurous soul and crafty nature. If you knew Steve, you likely had the pleasure of listening to him play his guitar, sat around a fire with him listening to his stories and know how big of a heart he had. He was a child at heart and found the light in every situation. Steve was a family man who loved his children more than anything. Steve passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024.
He is survived by his children Jill Caldwell and husband Scott, Stephanie Mier and husband Kelby, Brian Ross and wife Christina, sister Vicki Cheaney, sister-in-law Shirley Cheaney, Aunt Ronnie Holcombe, grandchildren Evan, Trevor, Paige, Sadie, Persayus, Kayden, Rylan, as well as many neices, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
He is preceded by his parents, grandparents, brother Bobby Cheaney, brother Hal Cheaney, uncle Mike Holcombe.
