Stephen D. Chicoine 77, longtime resident of Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on November 12, 1946, he was the son to the late Joseph E. and Jeannie (McVey) Chicoine. He earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Massachusetts and went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971.
Stephen worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for many years, inspecting animal health before retiring.
Stephen had a passion for Indycar Racing. Following his retirement, he followed his lifelong dream of traveling the Indycar circuit to watch all of the races in one season. He also enjoyed snow shoeing in the winter months and his annual tradition of planting many saplings on his property every spring. Stephen will be remembered most for his kind and gentle nature.
