Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Stephen Herbert Collins of Abbeville, Mississippi, 68, passed away on August 16, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi. The family will have a memorial service on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Clarksdale Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (160 Simmons Road Lyon, MS, 38645) with Jeff Zack officiating. Stephen was born on October 26, 1956 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the late Herbert Samuel and Lida Elouise Mullins Collins. He was baptized in Greenville, Mississippi, on February 7, 1971, and served as an elder in the Charleston MS congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he was known for his kindness and support. He loved helping others and sharing his faith. Stephen had a passion for his work, contributing to the Local Design Construction (LDC). He dedicated three meaningful years at the headquarters for Jehovah's Witnesses in Wallkill, New York. As an ASE certified mechanic, he used his skills to help others and take pride in his craft. An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Stephen cherished the moments spent hunting, particularly during duck season, and enjoyed peaceful days fishing for crappies. His love for cars and motorcycles brought him joy, and he took pleasure in collecting knives, watches, cuff links, and die-cast cars, often assembling the models with great care. Married to his beloved wife for 40 years, Stephen created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and wonderful memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The warmth of his smile, the sound of his laughter, and the love he shared so freely will live in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. Stephen was survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Eva Collins of Abbeville, MS; his two daughters, Sara Michaela and Hannah Nicole Collins both of Abbeville, MS; his sister, Sandra Turner (Walter) of Greenwood, MS; and his three nephews, Clint (O'Hara) Turner of Madison, MS, Nathan (Dana) Turner of Biloxi, MS, and Andrew Turner of Mandeville, MS; and a host of extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Samuel and Lida Elouise Mullins Collins, and his sister, Deborah Ann Collins.
