Stephen C. Crea, 73, of East Liverpool, passed away due to complications from diabetes on his 47th wedding anniversary, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Salem Regional Hospital. He was born June 23, 1951, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Valentine and Virginia Prezzia Crea.
Stephen graduated from Wellsville High School in 1969. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. He dedicated many years to working at the Beaver Valley Power Station and as a corrections officer at the Columbiana County Jail. Artistic and creative, he enjoyed working in his flower garden. Known for his great sense of humor and compassion, he didn't know a stranger.
His family, especially his grandchildren, was the most important thing in his life. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Diana Volino Crea, whom he married on April 17, 1978; son Michael Walters of Boardman; daughter Erica Johnston (Scott) of East Liverpool; grandchildren Mandy Wade (Ryan) and Julianna Johnston; great-grandchildren Jackson and Harper Wade; sister Catherine Brown (James) of Wellsville; nephew, Patrick Brown (Jerilynn) and niece, Brianne Hall (Steve).
Toni Pastore will officiate the service on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM. Friends may visit with his family 2 hours before the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Food and fellowship will be held directly afterward at the Chester VFW. Private internment will be held at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
