Stephen C. Currin

Fuquay-Varina– Stephen C. Currin, 71, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 9, 2024. A native of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Steve was born on January 25, 1953, to the late Dovie Stephenson Currin Painter and Julius C. Currin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Currin and Tony Currin.
Steve courageously battled a rare disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for many years with humility, strength, dignity, kindness, gratitude, love, and humor. Steve loved the Lord and lived his faith trusting that his life was in the Lords hands.
Steve was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Steve was employed for just shy of 40 years by Carolina Refrigerated Trailer Sales. He took great pride in his work and the company. Steve enjoyed sports, especially Duke basketball and golf. He was an avid golfer and played as often as possible.
Steve is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Wanda N. Currin; their son, Brandon Currin and wife, Katie; grandchildren, Jace, Rylan, and Lyla Grace whom he dearly loved. His sister, Judy Currin Powell and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all held a special place in his heart.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church, 301 N. Woodrow St. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 11:00 am at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church, 301 N. Woodrow St. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina.
