Stephen Anthony Dickinson

1939 - 2026

Stephen Anthony Dickinson, 86, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, with his loving family by his side at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 31, 1939, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Myron and Angela (Aurilio) Dickinson.

Steve graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1958. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in South Glens Falls for many years.

On June 8, 1968, Steve married the love of his life, Sandra Chakalis at St. Joseph's Church in Fort Edward by the Rev. John Mea.

For 42 years, Steve worked for NIBCO Inc. in South Glens Falls, retiring in 2000 as a Foundry Supervisor.

He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, watching and playing sports. Spending time with his good friends, Neil Green, Bill Gough, Fran Ruiz and his cousin, Nick Aurilio spending several hours taking road trips. He was also a white-water canoe champion with Neil Green.

Steve loved spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Above all, his favorite thing in the world was his wife, Sandra.

In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his siblings, James Dickinson, Michael Dickinson and Marylee Arpey Hadfield; his mother and father-in-law. Josephine and George Chakalis; his brother-in-law, Raymond Lacque.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra; his children, James (Doni) Dickinson and Stephanie (Todd) Johnson; his grandchildren, Joseph Johnson, Jordan Quintal, Ava Dickinson, Allie Dickinson, TJ and Carly Johnson; his brother, Peter (Theresa) Dickinson; his sister-in-law, Donna Lacque; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 6pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Michael's Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803 with the Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor officiating.

Rite of Committal will be announced at a date and time in the spring.

Memorial donations in Steve's memory can be made to St. Michael's Church c/o Bereavement, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. John Quaresima and the staff at Glens Falls Hospital on T-3 for the exceptional care and compassion they provided.

Additionally, a special thank you goes to his brother, Peter Dickinson, and his wife, Theresa, as well as his sister-in-law, Donna Lacque, for their support.
