Stephen Andrew Douglas

Stephen Andrew Douglas, born in Newton, NC on February 26, 1939, died on February 8, 2026. He graduated from Bandy High School in Newton. He was the only child of Howard and Hazel Douglas.

Stephen worked at Western Electric, AT&T long lines, served in the Army, drove long haul for a few years and retired from AT&T.

Steve enjoyed antique cars and trucks and liked to ride steam trains. He drove his 1931 A Model to Hershey, Pennsylvania with the A Model club around 1980. He got a lot of joy from his yellow labrador and later from his German Shepherd.

Steve came to faith in Jesus Christ under the preaching of Ross Rhodes at Calvary Church. Steve had a heart for missions and he went to Limoncocha for several weeks to work for H.C.J.B.

Steve leaves behind his wife Marva and 2 step children, Sheila Hutsell and James R. Clendenin and his wife Barrie. In addition, to cherish his memory are 3-step grandchildren and 3 great-grands.
