Stephen P. Dudek, 82, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 16, 2025, in Addison at Garden Way Place, Hermitage.
Mr. Dudek was born June 22, 1943, in New Castle, a son of the late Steve and Julia (Mielczusny) Dudek. A lifelong area resident, he was a member of the first graduating class from Shenango High School’s newly built school in 1961.
For many years, Stephen was employed by Pennsylvania Engineering Company, and later worked as the director of maintenance at Ss. Philip and James Church. During retirement, he proudly served as a security guard for many years, first at Essroc Cement, Bessemer, and later at Westminster College, New Wilmington.
Stephen was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle, and formerly a longtime member of Ss. Philip and James.
He was a very active member of the YMCA, where he enjoyed playing racquetball, exercising, and spending time with friends. Stephen also bowled in several leagues throughout his life and was formerly an active member of the Slovak Club, KP Club, and Polish Falcons.
Always proud of his Polish heritage, Stephen traveled extensively to Polish festivals and polkas, especially the annual Polish Festival held at Seven Springs Resort.
He is survived by a sister, Regina Bridges, of New Castle; three nieces, Julie Brown, Stacey Shields (Chris), and Christy Blackburn (Matt); a nephew, Jared Bridges (Laura); and 10 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Dudek; and brother-in-law, Rudy Bridges.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday (12-19-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Spirit Parish – St. Camillus Church, 314 W. Englewood Ave., New Castle, with Rev. Aaron Kriss, as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Ss. Philip and James Cemetery, New Castle.
