Stephen Crowley Evans

Stephen Crowley Evans, was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma January 9, 1951 to Crowley and Wanda Smith Evans and passed away from this life July 25 ,2025. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Steve was a lifetime resident of Anadarko, where he graduated Anadarko High School in 1969. He worked with his parents at the Texaco refinery, hauling gasoline to neighboring towns. He married Peggy Jo Peppers, on October 17, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He and his wife Peggy opened Ma and Pa's General Store in the mid-1970s, and loved interacting with all the customers and school kids who came in at lunch. During this time, he also opened his TaeKwonDo school where he was a 6th degree black belt. He was extremely proud of his students and their accomplishments through all the competitions and belt ceremonies. Steve taught many local youth, men and women who have gone on to open their own schools. Steve had been involved with Jack Hwangs School of TaeKwonDo since his college days at SWOSU where he earned his BA in Social Work. Steve retired in December 2024, from the Caddo County Sheriff's Office after 20+ years as a Deputy serving the citizens of Caddo County. Left to cherish his memory is daughter, Debbie Gutierrez of Moore, Oklahoma; son, Damon Evans and wife, Kathy of Anadarko, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ricardo and Ashlee Gutierrez of Carnegie, Oklahoma; Dane and Nikki Evans of San Marcos, Texas; Gabriela Gutierrez of Moore, Oklahoma, and Kacee Evans of Chickasha, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Aniyah Jo and Ricardo Estevan (Jr.) Gutierrez of Carnegie, Oklahoma; Ivy Lehua Evans and Mackenzie Kahi'i Evans of San Marcos, Texas; nephew Jeremy and NoraLee Evans of Edmond, Oklahoma; and brother-in-law Doyle McLemore of Anadarko, Oklahoma Steve is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life Peggy, and brother John Evans.
