All high school classes have cliques. Steve's clique included Jeanine Laverty, Don Lamb, Jeff Graham, Roger Johnston and Roger Himstreet. Once in a while Dan Cummings and me were included. Every Friday evening after the football game or basketball game we would all pile into Steve's Pontiac Station Wagon. We would cruise around the square too many time to count and if we got bored we woud scoop the loop in downtown Des Moines a few dozen times. I remember once it was so foggy coming back from Des Moines Steve couldn't see where he was going. He had me get out of the car and walk ahead of the car to keep from going into the ditch. There were a lot of memories of the times we spent together and I will miss not being able to talk with my good friend again.
