Stephen Trent Galloway, 58, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2025. Born on June 28, 1967, in Fort Wayne, Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known for his big heart, strong will, and straightforward nature, he was the patriarch of his family and a man who always told you what you needed to hear, not just what you wanted.
He worked hard his entire life, he as a mechanic at Ralph’s Auto Service and most recently with General Trucks. Steve was a skilled craftsman and handyman who loved working with his hands. Whether it was lawn work, fixing something broken, or making things beautiful, he found joy in creating and helping. His appreciation for music—especially rock bands like Metallica and Pantera—and his love of classic westerns like Gunsmoke were just some of the ways he relaxed and enjoyed life.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Tina Galloway; children Chelsea Galloway, Steffany Galloway (Joseph Fris), Anthony Short (Crissy), Hayley Ables (Dustin), and Lindzie Anderson (Tony); along with several beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Stephen Galloway, his sister Tristina Clancy, and Pacia Hood, the mother of his daughters.
Steve will be remembered as a caring, hardworking man whose love for family and straightforward wisdom shaped the lives of everyone who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
