William Warren Galloway

William Warren Galloway, 89, of Morganton, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Born in Burke County, NC on July 30, 1936, he was the son of the late John Pinkney Galloway and Addie Louise Saulmon Galloway.

William was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church and retired from Drexel Furniture after 41 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Galloway loved bluegrass music and square dancing, but he most enjoyed spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years, Dean Crump Hall; son, Scott Galloway; stepdaughters, Pam Houser (Rick) and Barbara Haigler (Dwayne); grandchildren, Cameron House, Nikki Poteat (Chris), and Savannah Tribolet (John); great-grandchildren, Adrianna Tribolet, Ailyn Tribolet, Olivia Tribolet, Bryson Poteat, and Daylin Poteat; sister, Laura Rhodes; nephew, Bobby Rhodes, Jr. (Carol Buchanan); niece, Susan Propst; great-nephew, William Propst; and numerous extended family.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy McFalls Galloway; sisters, Louise Galloway Peeler, Virginia Galloway Pitts, and Annie Mae Galloway Ehrnfeldt; and a brother, John Pinkney Galloway, Jr.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Adam Love officiating.
