Born to Eternal Life on Friday, March 7, 2025, age 89 years.
Beloved husband for 58 years to the late Patricia (nee Alles). Loving father of Susan (Chris) Smith and Dan (Mary) Glatch. Dear grandfather of Stephanie Hoeft, Jake Smith, and Laurel Glatch. Great-grandfather of Eleanora Smith. Fond brother of Jean (Al) Haavisto. Brother-in-law of of James (Nancy) Alles and the late John Michael (Patricia) Alles. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Steve was a retired electronic engineer from Allen Bradley. He started his career working on the Apollo spacecraft on-board computers, then worked at Allen Bradley the rest of his career. He loved to teach and helped with AB's sales school, taught courses in electronics and microprocessors at MATC, and basic computer courses at St. Stephen's. Helped in volunteer work at St. Stephen's and enjoyed hobbies ranging from outdoor sports to collecting and tinkering with all sorts of things. Enjoyed traveling back to his childhood area in northern Minnesota and visiting with family and exploring the woods, introducing his kids to the outdoors.
Memorial visitation on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at ST. STEPHENS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1441 W Oakwood Rd Oak Creek. Mass of Christian Burial to follow, at 3:00 p.m. Memorials, if so desired, may be made to St. Stephens Church or a charity of your choice.
