Stephen L. Grimes passed away at his home on July 28, 2022. He was born June 7, 1954 to the late Charles and Wilma (Hayes) Grimes. Steve grew up in Fairview, OH and was a 1972 graduate of Buckeye Trail where he played baseball, basketball, and was an avid golfer all his life playing in several leagues.
He is survived by his children: Morgan (Eric) of Westerville, OH, Ashley (Ryan) of Texarkana, TX, and Zachary (Kate) of Austin, TX; along with three grandchildren: Mackensie, Elliott, and Hayes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also surviving are brothers Gary (Beverly) of Byesville, OH and Kenny of Fairview, OH; sisters Sherry of Akron, OH, Vicky (Rick) of Marietta, GA and Linda of Lake Worth, FL.
He was preceded in death by brothers David (Nancy), John, Stanley (Sharlene), and brother-in-law Randy Wolff; sisters Shirley (Virgil) Miller and Arlene (Ray) Watson.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life memorial service on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 10am to 12pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Barnesville Chapel, 702 E. Main St., Barnesville, Ohio 43713. The funeral service will be at 12pm. Minister Rodney West will be officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery following the service.
Steve was a great dad, grandpa, and brother and was much loved. He will be greatly missed.
