Stephen F. Harrison, 55, passed away on January 22, 2025 at Community Hospital North following a brief illness. By his side was his loving wife Mary P. (Boyer) whom he married on September 4, 1998.

He was born in Indianapolis on October 18, 1969 to Jack C. and Catherine L. (Litz) Harrison, who both predeceased him. Steve was the youngest of three children with siblings Wesley B. (Beth) Harrison and Janet M. Harrison, both of whom survive.

The Harrisons were a camping family, and even as a baby Steve was traveling around the Midwest in a trailer. Later, the family added a trailer permanently located on the Ohio River for weekend visits.

Steve was a Little League participant. He graduated in 1988 from Center Grove High School. Following graduation, he began his automotive career working at Ray Skillman Automotive Group. At the time of his passing, Steve had worked 20-plus years for Andy Mohr Automotive. He enjoyed the interaction with customers and camaraderie with his coworkers. His automotive interest translated into being an avid Indy 500 fan. In addition, he enjoyed following the local sports teams, especially as a huge Colts fan, enjoying their success throughout the years.

Steve’s love of animals began at an early age as photos show him with numerous family cats. In their married life, Steve and Mary shared a love of dogs, especially Boston Terriers. They just said goodbye to their beloved Betty the Boston a few months ago.

In addition to his wife, brother and sister, Steve leaves behind his mother-in-law Mary H. Boyer, for whom he was always available to help; sisters-in-law Debra Boyer, Jane (Skip) Morgan, Judith (Alan) Lew and Susan Schwegman; four nieces and four nephews; three great-nieces and five great-nephews.

There will be a visitation with family and friends to remember Steve from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, March 1 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis IN 46250. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm.

Steve’s friendliness and great smile will be deeply missed. He touched so many lives – family, friends, coworkers and customers – and will be in our hearts forever.
