Stephen Michael Herko II

Stephen Michael Herko, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 76.
He was born in Upland, PA, and graduated from Eddystone High School, where he excelled as an All-Star athlete in baseball, basketball, and football. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a Jet Eng. Mechanic. Following his military service, he worked as a colorist in a salon before establishing his final career as a Journeyman Electrician with the IBEW.
Stephen was deeply committed to his Catholic faith, volunteering with Holy Eucharist Catholic Parish in New Jersey. He was also a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving the rank of Fourth Degree Knight. Known for his outgoing and personable nature, he had a remarkable ability to make people feel at ease in his presence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara; and their sons, Jason, Stephen, and Justin.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the sheriffs, firefighters, EMTs, and the staff at both HCA Navarre Emergency and HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital for their care and support.
