Stephen Wayne Hillis

Mr. Stephen "Wayne" Hillis, of Trumann, departed this life Monday May 5, 2025, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 77.
He was born September 10, 1947, in Weona, AR, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Hillis and Arlow Sanders Hillis.
Wayne was a retired machinist, having worked at Bray Gas for many years. He was also a pastor at Parkview Missionary Baptist Church and was a loving husband and father, who loved God. In addition to his parents, Thomas and Arlow Hillis, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Darlene Hillis, six brothers, Ocie Hillis, Ed Hillis, Jude Hillis, Tommy Hillis, Ronnie Hillis and Charlie Hillis, one sister; Nora Mae Abarah.
In addition to his parents, Thomas and Arlow Hillis, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Darlene Hillis, six brothers, Ocie Hillis, Ed Hillis, Jude Hillis, Tommy Hillis, Ronnie Hillis and Charlie Hillis, one sister, Nora Mae Abarah.
He is survived by his wife; Martha Faye Hillis of the home, two sons, Stephen Wayne Hillis Jr. and his wife, Vickie of Bono, and Charles Anthony Hillis of Lepanto, AR. Five brothers, Joe, Frank, Jimmy, Doyle and Clarence Hillis. Five sisters, Pauline Johnson, Barbara Ann Cervenka, Sharon McClung, Linda Herrin and Mary Jane Stacey. Three granddaughters, Chrystal Wooldridge, Whitney Hall, Morgan Hillis and several great grandchildren.
Those honored to be pallbearers are Buddy Helton, Bobby Fletcher, Dewayne Glover, Eddie Hillis, Dustin Hillis and John Guth. Honorary pallbearers are The Members of Grace Baptist Church.
Funeral services have been set for 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 9th, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Rev. Ron Lovins officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday morning from 12:00p.m.-1:00 p.m.
