Stephen Linn Isenhour, 71, of Advance NC passed away on Wednesday July 2, 2025. He was born in Concord, NC, on July 17, 1953 to the late Glenn and Lelia Isenhour.
He served in the United States Air Force as a sergeant in electrical power production. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in electrical engineering and retired from Duke Energy as a senior environmental engineer.
Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, especially being Poppy to Hudson and Shepherd. The friendships he made in his neighborhood were very special to him. He valued time spent with friends bowling, biking, playing darts and pickleball. His smile, laughter and quiet demeanor will be remembered.
He was an active member of Bethlehem Methodist Church where he served on many committees. Steve enjoyed being a Trustee and taking care of the church property. He volunteered at A Storehouse for Jesus in the food ministry and at Samaritan Soup Kitchen.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Isenhour, of Mooresville, NC. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Isenhour of Advance; son, Zachary Isenhour (Madison) of Kernersville, NC; grandsons, Hudson and Shepherd; son, Dustin Isenhour of Clemmons, NC; and grandson, Hunter; sister, Glenda Isenhour of LaGrange, KY; brother, Gary Isenhour of Kernersville, NC; brother-in-law, David Plyler (Johannah) of Atlanta, GA; and many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Bethlehem Methodist Church, 321 Redland Rd, Advance with Dr. Chuck Baker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 pm until 2:45 pm in the Family Life Center. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Methodist Church or to Bethlehem Methodist Good Neighbor Fund, 321 Redland Rd Advance NC 27006 or to A Storehouse for Jesus, 675 Lexington Rd.
