Stephen Kaine Obituary

Stephen Patrick Kaine, 59, passed away on October 16th 2025. Stephen was born August 19th, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Bernadine (Dolak) Kaine. He was a proud graduate of Elder High School class of 1984, where he made lifelong friends running with the cross country team. He went on to receive a BBA in Quantitative Analysis at the University of Cincinnati and pursued a Masters. At age 25 Stephen welcomed his first son, Jacob, into the world with Paula Meyer. At age 34 Stephen married Kelly Burke, and they welcomed John (Jack), Marie, Marilyn, and Michael into the world. Stephen was preceded in death by his father John (Jack) Edward and brother Danny. He is survived by his children and siblings Kathy, Linda, Mike, Mary Beth, Marty, John, Sharon, and Michelle, 15 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Stephen had a picturesque memory of his childhood and often told fond memories of good times and dabbling in mischief. He and his nine siblings attended Our Lady of Victory where he was once an altar boy and later remained involved in the parish. Beyond school, Stephen had an unmatched mind for all things trivia, especially if it involved some of his favorite interests. He loved baseball, specifically the Cubs (only while losing) and the Reds, football, Bruce Springsteen concerts, vacationing with his family in Sanibel, and spending time with friends. He loved making people happy, always had a joke ready, and spread peace through laughter. Anyone would tell you that Stephen knew no strangers, with friendships varying in length from his childhood all the way to newer ones in the last years of his life. His children were his greatest joy, and he made his pride for them known.

Stephen was raised in a large catholic family, and he would like everyone to remember how close he held his family. His proudest accomplishment was ensuring he honored his father and mother by holding a tight knit family above all else. He would not allow tribulations of life to separate family bonds. The sheer size of his family remains for all to see that there are no bounds to the amount of love one’s heart may hold.

Stephen’s family are forever grateful for the countless stories that have been shared of how Steve offered his compassion during the hardest of times. His shoulders forever remain open to help carry the load, as he dedicated his life trying to ensure feelings of solitude for anyone around him were fleeting at best. He would want his life to be remembered as a testament to the importance of how one treats others, and that judgment be left for the Lord alone.

Visitation will take place at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb rd. 45233 on Thursday October 23, 2025 from 5pm until 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday October 24 at 1130am at Our Lady of Victory Church

Stephen’s family requests no donations or flowers. Stephen asks simply that you take his love and pay it forward to your family first, and a stranger second.
