Stephen Eric "Steve" Knight

Stephen E. Knight, age 79, of Cambridge died December 18, 2025 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 10th at Stanchfield Baptist Church. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Stephen Eric Knight was born December 2, 1946 in Alexandria, Minnesota to Harold and Charlotte (Johnston) Knight. He attended school in Alexandria through the 5th grade and he graduated from High School in Rapid City, South Dakota. Steve continued his education in Sioux Falls earning his bachelor's degree in English and getting his teaching degree.

Stephen married Carol Ylinen after college, then they parted ways in the Duluth area. He then married Barb Knight and they made their home in Isanti. They later went their separate ways. On March 14, 2008 Steve married Rochelle (Slaight) and they lived in Cambridge. Stephen had a need for speed. He loved sled dog racing, breeding, and training lead dogs for 30 years. He loved fast Fords, car shows and working on his '51 Ford truck. His early working career was driving the Bookmobile in Northern Minnesota. Later he worked as a driver for Heartland Express in Isanti County where he enjoyed being the Lead Driver. He also really enjoyed being a Van Driver for the Cambridge-Isanti School District until last year. He was a faithful man and attended Eagle Brook Church.

Stephen passed away suddenly December 18, 2025 at home. He is survived by his loving wife, Rochelle; daughters, Emily Ward (Dan), Catherine Heckman (Ryan) and Crystal Thiesfeld; sister, Patty Unruh (Bob); 12 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
