Stephen C. Korpa

Stephen C. Korpa, 83, of Bethel Park, PA formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his wife, children, and dog on October 15, 2025. Born on November 13, 1941 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late George and Mary Korpa.

Beloved husband to Dottie Korpa; Loving father to Jason (Heather) and Jennifer Korpa; Brother to Johann Samuelson; Grandfather to Nathan Korpa, Jacob Lee, Adelynn Lee, and Emily Korpa; Brother in law to Joni Blank and Vincent Brazauskas; He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A lifelong educator, Stephen dedicated his life to teaching and inspiring others. A graduate of Edinboro University, he shared his creativity and craftsmanship as a jewelry teacher at Carrick High School, where he was admired for his talent, patience, and kindness. Always creating and building, Stephen was a skilled craftsman with an endless curiosity for how things worked.

His passion for teaching earned him national recognition - including the Reader's Digest American Hero in Education Award in 1989 and honors as a finalist for the Walt Disney American Teacher Award in 1991. But his greatest achievements were the lives he touched.

Stephen's impact reached far beyond the classroom; the relationships he built with students, colleagues, and friends will be remembered for generations.

He will be deeply missed by his family, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

At Stephen's request, there will be no visitation, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stephen's honor to MCG Youth. All arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
