I remember the first time I met Stephen Jr. I said, "Your Dad is the strongest man I've ever met". I still feel that way.
In my life; in college; in Vietnam; in my career I've known a few strong men.......but none as strong as Stephen.
I looked forward to every Sunday so I could tell him some snarky thought or memory or stupid joke.
His infectious laugh I always took as his acceptance.
I could only wish (as we all do) that life had not dealt him this horrible condition. I can only say that knowing him made me a better man
and more appreciative of my blessings in my life.
I'm proud to have had Stephen Mackintosh as my friend.
We love you,
Doug and Debbie Montgomery

What a beautiful obituary for a life extraordinarily well lived. He rides ahead.
You are so right, of course, about how Stephen filled a room with his presence and smile and eternal optimism -- especially awe-inspiring in the face of so much adversity these last years.
Anne, Ellie & James, Lindsay, and Stephen, please know that my love is-- and has been-- lifting you all up in prayer during this heavy time.
I am so sad that I won't be here in Dallas/the U.S. to offer my physical presence in support of you on the 17th.
Please know that I will be with you in thought and in spirit.
Love you. xoxox Alex Wagner (la peregrina )
