Stephen "Steve" Martino, "PawPaw", devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, passed away at his home surrounded by loving family on November 16, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in the Heights on March 1, 1944, to Anthony "Tony" Martino and Antonina "Lena" Comardo. He was one of five children. Steve was a lifelong resident of Houston, and a proud graduate of St. Pius X High School, class of 1963. During high school he met the love of his life, Laura Davis, and the two have been inseparable for the past 61 years. Steve became a licensed electrician and was a part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 716 for 40 years.
Steve was a devoted Catholic his whole life. He and Laura were parishioners of St. Ambrose Catholic Church for the past 56 years. He especially took joy in helping with the offertory collections and taking an active role in the Parish's annual garage sale.
Steve was known as PawPaw to his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and taking them on adventures. He was so proud of them and their accomplishments.
Steve loved his family, loved being an electrician, and taking trips to casinos. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Gabriel and Mark, and sister Mary Dragna. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Laura; daughters, Toni Broussard and husband David; Regina Warren and husband Doug; grandchildren, Katie Massicotte and husband Michael John "MJ", Elizabeth Broussard, and Alex Broussard; and his brother Joseph "Joe".
