Stephen Michael McCaffrey

Stephen Michael McCaffrey, 76, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026 after an extended illness surrounded by his family.

Steve was born on December 31, 1949, in Maysville, Kentucky. He graduated from Hamilton High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army, spending 12 months in Vietnam. After his service, Steve built a career as a truck driver for Walmart, where he worked for 22 years.

Steve was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 39 years of marriage with his wife, Elizabeth. He is survived by his three children: Colin (Liz) McCaffrey, Anne (Max) Resler, and Carrie McCaffrey. He was a proud grandfather to Brenan, Erin, and Meredith McCaffrey, and Jack and Ella Resler.

Steve had a deep love for his Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds, a passion he proudly passed down to the next two generations. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him, but his family takes comfort in knowing he is once again casting his fishing line in a quiet cove.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 16, at 3:00 pm, followed by a service at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231
