Barbara "Curylo" McCaffrey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara (Curylo) McCaffrey, 82, of West Hartford. Barbara was born to the late Bruno and Helen Curylo, and passed unexpectedly at home on January 23, 2026, to be reunited with her soulmate James and son Robert in heaven.

In her younger years, Barbara was a member of the St. Brigid Boys and Girls Fife and Drum Corp in Elmwood. Most recently she worked at CT Plywood in Plainville. As an avid hockey fan, Barbara's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. Whether cheering on her favorite team, the Boston Bruins, or discussing the latest game with friends, her energy and love for hockey were undeniable. It was in these moments of joy and excitement that Barbara's spirit shone brightest.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Karen Poulin; granddaughter Heather Poulin; grandson Danny Poulin; a very special great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Poulin; brothers-in-law, John McCaffrey (Annie) and Jay McCaffrey (Fran); sister-in-law Pat Curylo; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her soulmate Jim and son Bob, she is predeceased by her brothers, Gene Curylo and Ronald Curylo.

Calling hours will be Saturday, (February 7), from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
