Stephen Douglas Murray was born on October 11, 1947 in Alton, Illinois to Lt. Col. Dycus A. Murray and Mary Gatlin Murray. As a military child, he lived and was educated in cities over the U. S. and abroad.
His passion in life was taking care of his family, rescuing animals and O scale toy trains.
He was retired from Murray Trucking company and as a Warehouse Operations Manager for Pepsi and Butt Foods.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Sherry Connally Murray; son, Brady G. Murray (Jenny) of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, JoAnn Grantham of Jackson, Tennessee; stepson, David P. Mullins (Marilyn) of Milan, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Anna-Leah Mullins of Jackson, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Chloe Robinson, Brennon Murray, Hunter Grantham and Lauren McPeak all of Jackson, Tennessee and Hailey and Paige Murray of Rockwall, Texas.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Murray will be conducted Friday, September 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home.
