Stephen J. "Steve" Pflug, 81, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Christopher House of Worcester.
He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Joan M. (MacMillan) Pflug; his devoted children, Daniel Pflug and his wife Melissa, of Oxford Mass, and Laura Pflug and her significant other Roy Blanchard, of Auburn; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha (Albanese) Blanchard and her husband Mitchell Blanchard, of Kenosha Wisconsin, Michael Albanese and his Girlfriend Morgan Benoit, of Auburn, and Heather Albanese, of Natick; and great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Connor, and Lucas.
Steve was born in Portsmouth, NH, son of the late Albert and Louise (Green) Pflug. He was raised and educated in Framingham and graduated with the FHS's Class of 1960. Steve then attended and graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he received his Associate's degree in Civil Engineering. He had a lengthy career as both Land Surveyor and Civil Engineer, and retired from Thompson-Liston Associate's in Boylston.
In his free time, Steve enjoyed playing board games, card games, and dominoes. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and bowled in several local leagues for many years. Steve loved meteorology and loved keeping up with the latest forecasts! He also loved to shop! He was a regular (daily) at the Auburn Shaw's and CVS but was most known for his love of the former Spag's Supply store in Shrewsbury.
Steve cherished any time spent with his beloved family, and he especially loved vacationing at the Family home on Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire with them.
Steve always wanted to help people. He had several charitable endeavors, including delivering Meals on Wheels in Auburn and running the Southborough Food Pantry for many years. He also spent some time building homes for Habitat for Humanity. Steve was heavily involved with Hadwen Park Congregational Church in Worcester, as well as the Koinonia group at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Southborough.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 (donate online at: https://foodbank.org/donate/).
