Stephen Walter Rhea, age 79, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 8:23 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was born November 10, 1945, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Allen Austin and Hazel Anna (Elliott) Rhea.
Stephen was a 1964 graduate of Marionville High School in Marionville, Missouri and Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Stephen was a Psychiatrist for the Nevada State Hospital in Nevada, Missouri.
Stephen is survived by his cousins, Joe Elliott and his wife, Karen, of Aurora, Missouri, Charles Elliott of Marionville, Missouri, Glenn Elliott of Marionville, Missouri, Billy Elliott and his wife, Renee, of Springfield, Missouri, Donnie Elliott of Marionville, Missouri and John Elliott and his wife, Terry, of Springfield, Missouri.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Hazel, and two cousins, Margaret Victory and Cecil Elliott and his wife, Earlene.
A graveside service under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Maple Park Cemetery, in Aurora, Missouri.
