Stephen Michael Scheidt

Stephen Michael Scheidt, of London, Kentucky, was born on August 23, 1939, in Gary, Indiana. He was the son of the late Stephen Tomala and Agnus Jelinek Scheidt, and her late husband, Robert Scheidt.

On August 23, 2013, Stephen was united in marriage to the love of his life, Roberta Howard Scheidt, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey Scheidt of San Pierre, Indiana, and Donald Scheidt of Muskegon, Michigan; three stepchildren, Clayton Ray Morgan, Jr. of Lily, Kentucky, Christal Morgan Hopper of St. Cloud, Florida, and Shannon Dean Morgan of Corbin, Kentucky; one sister, Sandy May and husband Kenny of Columbus, Indiana; two grandchildren, Austin Hopper and Caleb Hopper; and two great-grandchildren he adored, Ella Snow Hopper and Eli Frost Hopper. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a son, Anthony "Tony" Scheidt, three siblings, Robert "Dean" Scheidt and his wife Charlotte, Patricia Stotts and her husband Glenn and Frank "Terry" Scheidt.

Stephen was a hardworking man, owning and operating S & S Trucking for 40 years. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing-his favorite spot being beautiful Lake Marion. He enjoyed traveling to Florida, sharing laughter, good food, and great memories with family and friends. Known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and generosity, Stephen had a heart for people and found great joy in family gatherings.

After meeting Roberta, he fell in love not only with her but also with Kentucky, where together they built a wonderful life filled with love and lasting memories.

Stephen Michael Scheidt departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 29 days. His legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service for Stephen Michael Scheidt will be held by the family at a later date.
