Stephen W. Semian Sr.

Stephen Wendell Semian, 86, of Eltingville passed away Sunday, March 9th 2025 after a long illness. He was born in Taylor, PA on September 29th, 1938 to Helen and Steve Semian. Stephen grew up in Factoryville, PA along with his 3 siblings Robert Semian, Patricia Przywara and Dorothy Steenback. After graduating high school, Stephen enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Thailand for several years. After the Army, Stephen started his career in the mailroom of Loeb Rhodes and established a career on Wall Street until his retirement as a Manager of the Margin Department at Bear Stearns in 2003. Stephen is survived by his wife of 57 years Dorothy (nee Maciag), three children Stephen, Susan and Sharon and seven grandchildren. Stephen enjoyed spending time outdoors either hunting, fishing or gardening. His hobbies also included bowling and neighborhood watching from the front porch. As a former Great Kills Little League manager and umpire, he was heavily involved in his grandchildren's sports. He was an avid Penn State and New York Giants Football fan, as well as the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lackawana River Conservation Association at lrca.org, the river Stephen fished his entire life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Time to be announced.
Private Cremation to follow.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
