It is with heavy hearts that we announce Stephen "Steve" Douglas Sieloff, 68 of Lake Mary, Florida passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 22, 1956, in Berwyn, Illinois.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother Ann Lamb and brother Brad Sieloff. He is survived by his father Clarence Sieloff, sister Deborah Sieloff, daughters Jamie (Sieloff) Matherne, Keri (Sieloff) Eaves, Stefanie (Sieloff) Lindsey, wife Ann (Harshany) Sieloff, and their children Alexandria, Thomas, Douglas, Amanda, and Angelina Sieloff, and countless nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Growing up, Steve was active in every sport. He never knew a stranger. Voted "Mr. Spirit" by his classmates, he was on the varsity football, basketball, and track & field teams of Lisle High School, where he graduated in 1975. He went on to graduate from Eastern Illinois University majoring in computer science.
He began his professional career as a programmer at Argonne National Laboratory and finished his 45-year career as Vice President of Product Development & Thought Leadership at Vérité Data. He truly had a passion for his work and took so much pride in what he did and the coworkers along his side.
Steve was dedicated to the love of his life Ann, whom he married on December 20th, 1991. They went on to have 5 children. He often spoke of his greatest life accomplishment being the fact that he was part of such a tight-knit, loving family. He was adamant about "family first" and was known for always having a few extras in tow for sporting events, birthday celebrations, holidays, family vacations, family pictures, or general family weekend gatherings.
His love for his family was evident by the fact that he never missed any birthdays, school/sports ceremonies, or special events despite flying to Los Angeles or Chicago from Monday to Friday every week for work. His children eagerly awaited his arrival home every week where he could be found with gifts from his trip and questions about how their week was at school.
When he wasn't refereeing/coaching his kid's youth soccer, basketball, or flag football games, he could surely be heard cheering them on from the sidelines, watching the Chicago Bears or Blackhawks, or listening to his favorite band, Boston. Following his children's sports' games, he could always be found giving out fist bumps and encouraging words to their teammates as they left the field/court. He thoroughly enjoyed attending various classic rock concerts and professional sporting games with his wife and children.
Steve was known for his infectious personality, and that deep, loud voice. Friends who knew him would describe him as a family-man, who was SO proud of his children and would frequently bragged about their various accomplishments, no matter how small. His children would often overhear him on work conference calls telling his many business partners about them and their recent successes.
Steve left this message for all:
"To my family, friends, co-workers and colleagues, I thank you all for your friendship and support over the years I mean it when I say that each and every one of you has played a part in my successes and in the person I was I thank each of you and I want you to know how much I cherished our time together, our collaborations and our friendships! Please surround Ann and the kids with the same support and love that you showed me They are my legacy, and I will rest easier knowing that they are being taken care of! May God bless all of you as richly as he has blessed me throughout my life!
Love you guys, Dad/Pops/Steve/Pookie Bear"
