Stephen "Steve" Joe Southwell, 73, of Eufaula, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025.
He was born September 22, 1951, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the son of George Cox and Valera Southwell.
Steve graduated from Chickasha High School. He had a variety of occupations including upholstery and firefighting. Steve started working at CMI in 1978, where he stayed many years until he retired. He traveled to many different countries as a Trouble Shooter for heavy load equipment.
Steve married Annie DiGregorio on July 6, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They both were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Steve was a family man and cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed dancing, singing, bird nest making, yard work, grilling, and trying different foods. He loved doing anything with his hands and spending time outdoors. Steve was an avid fisherman, boater, and hunter. He hunted deer the last 2 seasons with his Great Grandson Ethan, which he really enjoyed.
Survivors include his wife, Annie; 4 children; Melody, Tapatha, Patte', and Stephen, 17 Grandchildren; Shanna, Holly, Alexis, Stephen, Tanner, Frank, Kegin, Kali, Kaden, Kasen, Cecily, Chelsea, Logan, Sonya, Stephanie, Sean, Skylar, 15 Great Grandchildren; Stella, Emma, Hadley, Paxton, Brennan, Anna, Zadie, Clarity, Damon, Ronnie, Maverick, Kuiper, Emryck, Riley, and Ethan, Siblings; Georgiana Cox, David Cox, Mike Cox, Charity Andrews and her spouse, Gary Madison; his step-mother, Shirley Cox of Oklahoma City, and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Cox and Valera Southwell, a daughter Michael, and son Vincent.
Honoring Steve cremation is planned. No services have been scheduled at this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee St., Checotah, Oklahoma 74426.
