Stephen Sparks

Stephen "Moose" Brantley Sparks, a beloved son, friend, and member of his community, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Erie, PA. Born to Tim and Rosann Sparks in Orange Park, FL, with a brother and sister, Tim and Sarah, he was raised in Fleming Island and Lake Asbury. Those early years shaped the kind, grounded, and thoughtful person he became. After completing high school, Stephen continued his education at Brigham Young University–Idaho and the University of South Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He had a thirst for knowledge and a deep interest in understanding people, which guided both his studies and everyday life.

Stephen, a deeply compassionate and empathetic person, cared profoundly for his fellow human beings, our planet earth and its animal inhabitants. He found joy in the simple and beautiful things around us, always showing kindness in both small gestures and meaningful ways. He found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. Stephen loved gardening and had a strong interest in botany, appreciating the quiet wonder of watching things grow. He also enjoyed cooking and crocheting, and cherished time spent camping and being in nature, especially near the water, where he felt most at peace.

Stephen loved his kitties, Frankie and Biscuit, who were always at the forefront of his mind and cared for immensely. Stephen will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his caring nature, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His presence made people feel seen, valued, and understood, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his parents, Timothy and Rosann Sparks; his brother, Timothy Bryan Sparks; his sister, Sarah Floyd; and her children, Kathryn "KK," Ezekiel "Zeke," and Nora.

In honoring Stephen, may we carry forward his compassion for others, his love for the earth, and his gentle way of moving through the world.
