Stephen L. Springman

Stephen Lee Springman, 70 of Greenfield, IL, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2026, at his home, in Greenfield, IL.

Steve was born January 13, 1956, in Columbus, GA, a son of Vernon L. Springman and Donna (Karrick) Springman. He graduated from Southwestern High School with the class of 1974. He married Debbie Wilson, in Tishomingo, MS on February 14, 2015.

Early in life, he worked at Laclede Steel for 17 years. After that, he worked as an operating engineer for 25 years and later worked for Monotech of Mississippi until his retirement. Steve enjoyed the outdoors, his greatest passion was the sport of archery. He was very active in hunting, as well as, competition shooting. He was a member of Wolf Run Bow Hunters-Roodhouse, IL, National Field Archery Association, IAA, Pro-FSL, and Ripple Creek Archers-Plainview, IL. At one point, he was sponsored by Browning Archery and was ranked #1 in Illinois and #3 in the nation in competition shooting. His greatest joy in life was his family, he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, son, Darrell R. Titus and son, Corporal Jeremiah "Jeremy" Costello.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 260 Woodlawn Dr. Carlinville, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Saturday,March 14, 2026 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Debbie Springman of Greenfield, IL, son, Stephen C. Springman of Shipman, IL, daughter, Kelly (Leo) Jacoby of Piasa, IL, son, Joel (Terrie) Rhodes of Sawyerville, IL, daughter, Lillian Costello of Benld, IL, son, Jayden Mullins of Greenfield, IL, and several bonus children. Grandchild, Paige (Jeremy), Lexi (Tommy), Clayton (Alayna), Jacob, Janna, Molly, Logan, Caity, Morgan, Chloe, Brady, Mayhem, Merci, Maggie, Cyrus, Brocke, and several other bonus grandchildren. Great Grandchildren, Benton, Ryder, Grant, Declan, Aleah, Aliveah, Remi, sister, Kathy (Sonny) Stroup of Buford, GA, sister, Carol Dawning of Buford, GA, sister, Deborah (Kirk) Lockwood of Carlinville, IL, sister, Lisa (Russell) Jones of Carlinville, IL, brother, Michael (Shirley) Springman of Tishomingo, MS, brother, Vernon (Julie) Springman of Carlinville, IL.
