Stephen Justin Tefteller

Private graveside services for Stephen Justin Tefteller, of Gilmer, Texas, were held under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home. Stephen was born on May 28, 1937, in Upshur County, Texas, to Joseph Wilburn Tefteller and Tessie Lillian Lindsey Tefteller, and passed away from this life on September 28, 2025, surrounded by his family. Stephen proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. Stephen married Claressa Earlene Huber on January 4, 1985, in Mesa, Arizona. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 23 years before his retirement. Stephen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Claressa Tefteller; children, Ray Palmer, Barbra Jones, Thomas Palmer, Brenda Palmer-Hewitt, Mark Palmer, and Syanna Tefteller; siblings, Charles, Patricia, Paula Kay, Glenn, Larry, and Rick. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Gwendolyn Tefteller, Randy Joe Tefteller, Wilburn Tefteller Jr., and Ruth Ann Childress.
